OPEN TESLA

On the occasion of two birthdays, the Transofrmation Hall will host exclusive energy transfers – Tesla coils will be played by sound artists, researchers and performers who will experiment and combine lightning music with their creations.

18.00 | Tata Frenkel and Vitalis Vitaleus – a duo of ETM guide-educator, creator of interdisciplinary (performative) art and doctor of arts, experimental sound artist. Both creators work on various educational projects, often incorporating sound art.

BOOK FAIR

The books of the “Baltos lankos” publishing house at the publisher’s prices. All day in the main, Boiler Hall. On the occasion of the birthday of the power plant and the museum, “Baltos lankos” will present literary gifts to ETM visitors.

TASTING DINNER BY DEIVYDAS PRASPALIAUSKAS AND JONOS LINGYS

In the special program of the evening of February 14th (from 7 PM) – the tasting dinner by Deivydas Praspaliauskas and Jonas Lingys will take place at the Energy and Technology Museum. There is no greater love than the love of food. Registration.

MONIKAZE. LAWS OF TESLA

At the Tesla coil panel in the Transformation Hall, virtuoso of sharp electronic music combined with gentle vocals Monikaze will perform. She is a well-known and highly regarded name among listeners, having appeared alongside acts such as “Dopplereffekt” (at Gaida), “Algiers” and “First Hate” on her debut album “Chicken Wings”.

In January, Monikaze returned from a performance at the prestigious Eurosonic Noorderslag festival of emerging European music talents in the Netherlands. The event features the Music Moves Europe Awards, which aim to spotlight Europe’s brightest rising music stars.

The second album “Waste of Space” of the fast-growing artist was released by the British record company “Moshi Moshi Records”, which releases the work of such well-known artists as “Hot Chip”, “Moscoman”, “Invisible Minds” or “Hercules & Love Affair”.

“SCANORAMA” – LITHUANIAN CINEMA CHRONICLES

On the day of the restoration of the state of Lithuania, ETM will be visited by the film forum of European countries “Scanorama”. The organizers of the festival will invite you to get involved in a cinematic adventure and feel like discoverers, detectives and time travelers – the program “Interwar Lithuania Through the Lens of Film Chronicles (1938)” will be shown all day in the Boiler Hall.

Programmer, film restorer, archivist Aleksas Gilaitis: “This is an eloquent historical document that reveals a living connection between the past and the present. Dates and political circumstances change, but a person’s view of himself and the environment around him does not change. It is a cinematic adventure that denies that chronicles are only the territory of historians and archivists.”

AUDIOVISUAL PERFORMANCE ON THE OLD BOILERS “SOCIAL CONNECTIONS”

On February 17th, at 8 PM “Vilkta svetainė”, which unites artists from various fields, presents an audiovisual performance on the historical boilers of the old power plant, “Social Connections”. Performers, dancers, actors, creators of the modern circus will perform the staged performance. The author and curator of the idea is Povilas Bastys.

“Social Connections”. With this performance, the community of creators searches for and analyzes the changing, established boundaries and frameworks of social existence in society. How we speak, greet, move, dress and appreciate is a constantly changing reflection not only of culture, but also of time. These social norms (or tendencies) are like the engine of society, the components of which, working together, create a certain energy.

Performance artists will explore the boundaries between past and present societal norms. It will also look for new forms of expression, possible future social codes and clichés. The authors of the performance will combine various creative directions: circus, modern dance, acting, electronic music, voice performance and others. During the event, the audience will be invited to watch the action on any of the three floors, as the performance will take place on the old steam boilers located in the center of the museum.

The duration of the event is 1.30 hours.

ETM SCIENCE FAIR

The Science Fair will be bustling all day in the ETM Boiler Hall. It includes scientific experiments in chemistry and mechanics fields, we will build a light bulb, battery or generator, get acquainted with 3D printing, mobile ETM interactive exhibits, including a Tesla coil. In addition, there are new augmented reality exhibits in the museum exposition. ETM guides-educators accompanying you will answer all scientific questions.

HAPPYENDLESS. TESLA OPERA

Electronic duo “Happyendless” (Andrius Kauklys and Marius Narbutis) will play with Tesla coils – lightning bolts – in ETM’s new Transformation Hall. The program includes works from the albums “Utopia” and “Kinetika”, arranged for a new instrument, Tesla coils, and an electrifying spectacle – electric energy discharges reaching millions of volts.

“Happyendless” will transform the imagination of the listeners into electrons, with the help of which they will color an electronic journey through the viewers’ subconscious.

“The obsession with creating something new, using different tools, solutions and syntheses, left no doubt for a second that Tesla coils and their discharges need to be “harnessed” for a new performance,” said Kauklys, a member of “Happyendless”.

“SCANORAMA” – PREMIERE OF THE FILM “DE HUMANI CORPORIS FABRICA”

On February 19th, at 7 PM European film forum “Scanorama” will invite you to experience physical beauty and horror – the premiere of the documentary “De Humani Corporis Fabrica” by French directors Verena Paravel and Lucien Castaing-Taylor will take place in the Boiler Hall. The audience will be accompanied by music created by the brain impulses by sound artist Aistė Noreikaitė.

Five centuries ago, the anatomist André Vésale opened the human body to science for the first time in history. This year, a pair of intrepid documentarians, looking over the shoulder of surgeons, traumatologists and other doctors, opens the human body to cinema.

Aistė Noreikaitė is a sound artist who creates interactive sound installations and performances using brainwave, EEG, technology. The artist will present the sound experience “Inner Worlds”, during which it will be possible to hear how the brain waves of different people sound. By consciously changing one’s states, A. Noreikaitė suggests reviewing the structure of a person’s inner world and immersing oneself in a journey that requires inner concentration.

The screening will be presented by film critic Narius Kairys.
After the premiere, the birthday program closing will take place.

The final exhibition “Salve, Vilnius’DCC” of the continuous project “Salve, Vilnius” is dedicated to immortalizing the uniqueness of the city of Vilnius on the occasion of its 700th anniversary.
