Arturas Bukauskas Lecture “Animation And Augmented Reality”

On December 11th 5 PM Arturas Bukauskas lecture “Animation and Augmented Reality” will be held at Energy and Technology Museum.

A. Bukauskas, a researcher of moving images, associate professor and lecturer at the Vilnius Academy of Arts, will tell what animation is in augmented reality. Could it be that we are making extra relationships with things, which we understand as animation? Maybe animation hides in our gaze and is a feature of our consciousness?

During the lecture, we will review the augmented reality works of Vilnius Academy of Arts animation students.

Film director Bukauskas lives and works in Vilnius. After graduating from Justinas Vienožinskis School of Art, he became interested in the influence of science and technology on his work, so he entered physics. He later studied animation, directing at the Russian Institute of Cinematography (VGIK), set up his own studio and teaches students.

The event is free. Participation in events – with a National Certificate.

Pre-registration required.

The lecture is a part of the project “Animation: Illusion of Motion, Inspiration of Life” of Energy and Technology Museum. The project is designed to stimulate interest in the art of animation. It will also feature Ilja Bereznickas lecture “How to Make a Cartoon?” And an animation workshop on zoetrope production.

Project sponsors: Lithuanian Council for Culture, Vilnius City Municipality.
