European Heritage Days – on Sustainability

September 9-18th European Heritage Days will be held in Lithuania, this year inviting for discussion on the topic of sustainable heritage. On this occasion, the Energy and Technology Museum organizes guided tours, during which you will get to know the facade of the former first power plant of the city of Vilnius, where the museum is currently located, the power plant’s equipment, the most important dates, the role of the power plant as the city changed and modernized.

  • September 13th, 5 PM to 6 PM guided tour “100 Years of History”
  • September 15th, 5 PM to 6 PM guided tour “100 Years of History”
  • September 17th, 5 PM to 6 PM guided tour around the museum

The number of participants in one excursion is limited to 30 people.

European Heritage Days take place every September in all 50 European countries and bring together around 30 million participants every year. The first cultural heritage awareness events started in France in 1985. It aimed to present and reveal cultural heritage to foreigners and tourists living in the country. Lithuania became a member of the Council of Europe in 1993 and has since joined the international event.
