We are gathering a new group in “Tesla Academy”. Energy and Technology Museum’s technical creation club is for 14-17 year old students that are interested in modern technologies. Together with museum educator, electronics engineer Andžej Kuldoš they learn how to program, model and print with a 3D printer, cut with a CO2 laser, work with a wide-format plotter, microcontrollers and everything we have in our workshop.
After getting acquainted with the equipment, we create the chosen item: a photo-lamp or a smart home system. After graduating from “Tesla Academy”, participants acquire the basics of programming, soldering and electronics.
“Tesla Academy” Program:
Introductory session about 3D printers. We will get acquainted with five FDM technology and one SLA technology 3D printer, we will learn to work safely with this equipment. We will test the acquired knowledge by performing the tasks of the test principle.
Introductory session on CO2 laser. We will get acquainted with the 100×70 cm laser, its operating principles, possibilities of use, we will learn to work safely this equipment. We will test the acquired knowledge by performing the tasks of the test principle.
An introductory session about a wide-format plotter. We will get acquainted with a wide-format plotter and learn to work safely with this equipment. We will test the acquired knowledge by performing the tasks of the test principle.
Introductory session on electronics. We will get acquainted with various microcontrollers and sensors, learn how to control and program them, and how to work safely with electronic components. We will test the acquired knowledge by performing the tasks of the test principle.
Practical workshops. Divided into small groups, we will start working with software and 3D printers, a wide-format plotter, and experiment. We will learn to cut and engrave with a CO2 laser. We will program microcontrollers, learn to use sensors and other electronics.
Implementation of a technical creation project. Using the knowledge and skills acquired during practical workshops, we will individually implement the selected project. We will present the completed projects to friends and the curator of the group, discuss the challenges and success.
Classes are held on Mondays and Fridays from 4 PM (2 academic hours).
Price – 80 eur/month. The price of the program using the non-formal education basket is 65 eur/month.
